Cheers to 2021!

As we move forward into 2021, there is a lot to reflect on from 2020. There were so many plans and adventures that had to be postponed, dreams that were left on shelves, and goals that started out with good intentions and snowballed into guilt. I know, I was at the brunt of that sharp end. So many hopes and dreams that were postponed inevitably, the year just took it right out of me and before I knew it here we are Christmas over and done with welcoming in the new year.

This year however, I will take by the reigns. If I learned anything in 2020 it was to not let motions dictate where my life is going, I have to stop living my life. I have to start being a part of it that dictates how I live my life. it  is a funny notion to think about but so many of us just go along for the ride. I mean we are were we are by causation not choice. I didn't choose my job I took the one that offered me the most money, I didn't choose were I live I'm here by obligation, I didn't choose my car I made a wise decision with my partner. So many little things add up to put you were you are today. By making or not making a choice you are therefore making a choice. Being led or leading your life. These are things that I think about as I reflect back on the year. So many goals left unaccomplished. That what 2020 took from me I am taking back ten fold in 2021. I was going to share 20 things I was grateful for in 2020 but I want to stop looking back, I want to look forward. After all no amount of guilt will be able to change my past, what or how I chose to spend my day that totaled up into a year. as no amount of anxiety looking forward into the future will be ever able to change the outcome of that future. What I can do however, is create a vision board and do something everyday that will lead me to that. Whether it is something small or something that takes hours, as long as I can do something, one thing a day I will be that much closer to being who I wat to be or being that much closer to where I want to be.

I will list 7 goals on my vision board as I love that number and I will focus my 2021 on those 7 things. I will do everything in my power to not waste anymore time but to achieve these dreams of mine. No one else will help me if I do not take the time to help myself. So as we look at today and what we can do today to change tomorrow here are my goals.

1. attaining my goal weight

2. purchasing my first chanel handbag

3. 10,000 subbies on youtube and instagram

4. finishing my novel

5. visiting europe for the first time

6. getting invisalign to straigthen my smile

7. buying my dream car

I am focusing my year on these items, I could put bigger or better things on there however, these things are all things that I myself can control. These are things that I do not need help from anyone to be able to accomplish. I will be solely responsible at the end of the year if I am not able to attain these goals. I do not want to see them as checklists, I do not want them to cause me stress, the opposite in fact. These things drive me, they encourage me and make me excited to attain the next goal. They are also specific, I find the more specific you are the more likely you are to reach your goal. Once you have reached it you can focus on a different goal or you can up the challenge. If you need a cheerleader for you to achieve your dreams, I highly suggest listening to Terri Savelle on YouTube or her podcast. I started listening to her at work while I'm working alone and I found her so encouraging. It's because of her I started my blog up again!

Cheers to new beginnings, new dreams, new goals, and new loves!

Xoxo,
